The brief
A rear room that was dark at midday, on a house with room to open up to the garden.
What we built
Built up a warm-deck flat roof and set an aluminium lantern into it, then glazed the rear elevation in black-framed doors and windows onto a new porcelain patio. Scaffold up, roof on, watertight before the interior fit began.
The result
Light from above all day, and a rear elevation that looks a decade newer than the street side.
